The U.S. Government and Me
3rd Grade Social Studies Unit
To continue our unit on the U.S. Government and Citizenship, we are now going to focus on the three branches of the national government. In order for the U.S Government to run smoothly and fairly, our founding fathers split the powers among three different branches; executive, legislative, and judicial. By splitting the powers among these three branches, no single person can have too much power over the United States. In three groups, you will research one of the three branches of the government focusing on the role each branch has in the passing of a law.
