Your Task--
Congratulations!
You just landed a new job in Washington DC working for one of the branches of the U.S Government. When you begin your new position, your first assignment is to:
--Research your assigned branch of the government. Each member of your group will be assigned one of the following roles. Each member must complete their assigned role. There will be eight people in each group.
--After you research your designated information, your group will work together to make a poster presenting all of the information you discovered while completing this Unit of Study. You will present your poster to the class through an informal presentation.
--The class will then combine to complete a role play of how a law is passed through the different branches of the U.S Government. Each branch will be given the proper information to correctly complete the role play.

Student Roles in Each Group--
Each member of the group will be assigned one of the following roles while completing the Unit of Study. Because there are eight people in your group, there will be more than person assigned to each role. Your role outlines what youu should focus on while researching your branch of the government. Use the following descriptions as a guide for each role.
--The purpose of the branch (3 students):
You will focus on what the branch actually does for the U.S. Government. Where
was the branch established in the Constitution? What is the main function of
the branch?
--Who works for the branch (3 students):
You will focus on the different agencies and groups of officials who are
included in your branch of the government. How does each group contribute to
the branch of the government?
--What role the branch has in passing a law (2 students):
Your job is to investigate what the branch does when a law is being passed
through the U.S. Government. Each branch contributes in some way when a law is
being passed and it is your job to research these contributions.
